Mavs shut out by Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS — The UNO baseball team outhit Minnesota 5-4, but couldn't bring home a run Wednesday in a 1-0 loss to Minnesota.

Caleb Palensky doubled for the Mavs (11-27), who had runners on first and second with two outs in the ninth but failed to score.

Cole Volkers took the loss for UNO, despite allowing just three hits and an earned run in six innings.

The Mavs play a three-game series at future Summit League foe Oakland starting Saturday.
